At my core, I'm a community activist who believes that strong communities need constant care, dissenting voices and forums for healthy dialogue. "Finding" community media nearly 15 years ago let me put all of that into action on a daily basis. Building DMA into a healthy and vibrant community resource is a huge passion for me.
Our work at DMA is collaborative, open, engaging, fun, and done for community benefit. I work with an awesome community of staff, board and volunteers. I've served this organization as Assistant Director, Director of Operations, and since 2006, its Executive Director. I produce programming for DCTV Channel 15, including local election programming, and have hosted public affairs programming on KDRT.
My monthly column on media and telecommunications is published in The Davis Enterprise the last Thursday of each month and I’ve also been published in a wide range of media journals, online media, and other periodicals.
I'm in my second year as a board member of the Alliance for Community Media Western Region Board and participate in a regional collaboration between seven Northern California community media centers.
