OMS: Using Social Media & Networks (facebook, blogspot, myspace, twitter, etc.)

I'm going to take a few guesses, you probably have a facebook or have watched a video on youtube, you're maybe instant messaging a buddy as you read this . If you wondering what the heck I'm talking about, now is the time to find out just how much social media has transformed our lives.

We will cover the topic of social media, what is it, what does it mean, and more importantly, how do you use it to enrich your life. This session will take place at DMA on August 25th at 7pm. This topic will be geared for people who are looking at connecting with others over the internet and wanting to jump in.

DMA offers Open Media Sessions each Tuesday at the community media center on Fifth Street. The sessions are free and open to the public, though reservations are requested at cgaribay@davismedia.org

Open Media Sessions offer an overview of various aspects of "new media" and are geared at giving community producers more tools and information to help them on their way.
